The BET Awards 2019 hosted by Regina Hall is one of the hallmarks of Black Excellence in terms of entertainment, television, sports and fashion for sure. It is a celebration of the notable and amazing feats of the black community. It was indeed a wonderful event which took place this past Sunday, 23rd June 2019 in Los Angeles with the awards ceremony highlighting the “Humanitarian Award” presented to Nipsey Hussle (of blessed memory) and Mary J. Blige being honored with BET’s “Lifetime Achievement Award”.

Also, our favorite celebrities did not fail to bring their A- game as they dazzled and shined on the blue carpet. Some of the fashion trends that stood out were summer suits, bold and bright colors (neon pops), monochromes and prints amongst others. It was literally summer game on!!!!

Here are some of our favorite looks that gave us the chills and grins on the red carpet.

Fashion Define with Explict Colours

It was a summer fiesta as the stars strutted the blue carpet in their colorful outfits. While the ladies paired their outfits with trendy heels and clutches, the men opted for snazzy kicks and hats which stars like Lil Nas X pulled off effortlessly. We know how our black Kings especially in the Hip Hop community love jewelries. Offset, Takeoff and Quavo of Migos amongst others certainly didn’t come to play as they showed off their blings. Go bling or go home people!!!!!

White Outfit Designs at BET Awards

The “Ladies in White” were absolute waowsers in their glorious white dresses. While some went for statement hairstyles like Nesly, who was undeniably show stopping with her unicorn hair, the other Queens shimmerd, shined and glimmered with sparkly and blingy accents. We couldn’t help but notice the beauty looks which were edgy, smoky, natural and pops of colour too. Overall, the ladies were “diva’d up” in their sizzling outfits, plunging necklines and daring silhouettes.

Prints were also outstanding on the blue carpet. Burna Boy and Bose Ogulu went all out in their gorgeous print looks. Louis Carr was rather dapper looking in his printed suit and we can’t help but marvel at Blackish star, Miles Brown in his red and green tracksuit. Go Miles!!! His “TV twin”, Marsai Martin was all shades of gorgeous in her sweetheart dress with black thin-strapped heels.

BET Awards Couples Catalogue

Our black couples brought the wow factor in their coordinating outfits and we can’t help but blush!!! Victor Cruz and Karrueche Tran were lovey-dovey in their pastel power suits and Tallie Leon and Aliya Janell brought the heat in their fire outfits. Kirk and Tammy Franklin were brightly glammed up as Kirk rocked the pastel suit and Tammy dazzled in sequins. We heart our black couples.

Conclusion

This year’s award show was definitely a step in the right direction and we can only look forward to bigger and better fashion feats in the future.
