Anyone that has ever gone through photo shooting for an international company will tell you that this is not a walk in the park. Well, celebrated Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Ngozi is a disappointed fellow after an international publication failed to use her photos for what she claims to be unfair reasons.
Ngozi who has since posted the photos on her instagram account claims that the company rejected them because they didn’t want her looking ‘too glamorous’. Announcing the news in an instagram post the writer captioned the post, #rejectedphotos and wrote, “It was a cover shoot for an international magazine. Or it was supposed to be. The magazine rejected the photos. They didn’t want me ‘looking glamorous,’ they said. And so the cover didn’t happen. What does one do with rejected photos but show them anyway, primarily for the vanity-boosting benefits of such an act, but also to celebrate and thank these talented people in Lagos.”
Chimamanda went ahead to thank all the people that had worked with her in the shoot, tagging them in her post. This of course did not sit well with her fans who have gone ahead to condemn the international company terming them as unfair and unprofessional.
