We will never get tired of acknowledging our amazing black stars for their fashionable moments because they always bring it. Following the Golden Globes that held last week, our celebrities showed out once again at the Critics putting their best fashion foot forward.
The 25th Critics’ Choice Awards, being the second award ceremony this year, took place in Santa Monica, California. The event which held on Sunday, 12th January, 2020, was hosted by Taye Diggs.
Beloved stars like Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, Susan Kelechi-Watson stepped out on the blue carpet in noteworthy fashion statements. Apart from the style wins, celebrities like Ava Duvernay, Jharrel Jerome, Ruth E. Carter, Jordan Peele and Regina King were big winners for the night. Eddie Murphy also received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the ceremony.

The Euphoria star was our ‘Warrior Woman‘ for the night. Z stunned in a monochromatic pink set from the Tom Ford Spring 2020 Collection. She completed her alluring ensemble with gorgeous long braids and a subtle beauty look. Although Zendaya did not win any award, she definitely won our fashion hearts.
MJ brought the steamy vibes in a dazzling number by Moschino. Paired with silver earrings, gorgeous curls and a warm facebeat, she was a bombshell beauty.
Following the sparkly path, Niecy Nash shimmered in a sequined one shoulder dress by Tadashi Shoji. She completed her look with shiny blue heels and a Jimmy Choo clutch.
Susan showed her sleeky side in a stunning white dress by Galaia Lahav. Featuring amazing back details and a plunging neckline, she came to serve.
Jharrel stepped out on the blue carpet looking tasteful and chic. The 22 year old star paired a grey coat with a white shirt, pale grey pants and white sneaks. Jharrel also won the award of the “Best Actor in a Limited Series”. It was a refreshing look overall.
Award-winning star, Lupita Nyong’o was an absolute stunner in a beautiful brown ensemble. Apart from her dress, her hair was definitely the statement element for the whole look. The actress proved that sometimes, it’s just all about the hair and we are taking notes.
Ava looked elegant in a lavendar dress with long sleeves and gorgeous white details by Michael Cinco. Rocking her beautiful locs (including the fine edges), she was an absolute charmer.
Black-ish star, Marcus Scribner, looked spectacularly chic in his ensemble by Ermenegildo Zegna.
Fast-rising star, Cynthia Erivo, donned on a bold print dress by Fendi. It was daunting style and she rocked it.
Murray rocked the blue carpet in a sleek custom dress by DKNY.
