One of the contestants of the 2017 edition of the Voice, Janice Freeman, has died at age 33. Her rep told ET in a statement that the singer died on Saturday at 5.30 pm. In his statement, he said that the singer had performed a week before her death at a gala in Kansas.
He said that by the morning of the show Freeman was feeling very weak and her condition drew a lot of concern from her hosts. They had asked the singer be taken to the ER instead of traveling home, she, however, chose to fly home instead.
Freeman had spoken before about battling Lupus. Lupus is an autoimmune disease that attacks its own tissue, it leads to several symptoms which include chest pains, fatigue, swollen joints, etc. She had said in a rap that the symptoms were becoming worse.

Janice Freeman was on the thirteenth season of the Voice where she was on Miley Cyrus’ team. She became an instant hit among fans of the show with her dazzling performances. The singer is survived by a husband and daughter.
