Kanye West held an Easter Sunday Service, which coincided with the second weekend of Coachella, and it is reported that he was so inspired by it he might be thinking of starting his own church.
An insider who spoke to PEOPLE said though we all might see West in a different light at times, it is evident that he really wants to help people who he thinks really need support. He actually just wants to share his experiences with others.
According to PEOPLE, the insider said, “He understands brokenness and the need for healing, probably more than most people. He believes in the healing powers of music, but also believes that God can step in and heal people’s brokenness and their issues.”
The Easter Sunday Service attracted a huge crowd and rapper, DMX, was even present to say a prayer. The event was streamed live online and one of the attendees has even begun selling “holy grass” from the venue for $120 on eBay. The product description reads, “GRASS FRESH CUT BLESSED BY THE SOUND OF KANYE’S VOICE AND KID CUDI’S HUMMIN.”
There are no concrete plans yet as regards the church, West has just mentioned it in passing. His wife has said that the services won’t be regular, they will be filled with just music, instead of a sermon and hymns.
Kanye began delivering his Sunday services from the beginning of 2019.
