A Kenyan Instagram influencer was killed while allegedly drug trafficking. Brenda Akinyi Ochola, also known as Brendalicious, died in Malaysia after the cocaine she was allegedly trafficking burst in her stomach, according to local media reports.
When she arrived at the Malaysian airport, she allegedly began acting strangely, which drew the attention of security guards. Brendalicious is said to have collapsed and begun foaming at the mouth.
Efforts to save her were futile. Unconfirmed reports claim that 34 capsules of illegal drugs were discovered in her stomach.
Brendalicious’ social media posts chronicled her frequent travels, lavish vacations, and opulent lifestyle. Following her death, social media users reacted across multiple platforms.
Brenda’s close friend, however, refuted the claims, claiming that her friend died from Sepsis, a life-threatening medical emergency that occurs when an infection already present causes a chain reaction throughout the body.
Defending her departed friend, she wrote: “My friend had Sepsis and it’s a disease that can take anyone’s life. Brenda was a well respected Law graduate and decent girl, the only thing she did was to live her best life that is not sitting well with y’all that’s why you can’t stop the bile.”
