Mohammed Jalloh Massaquoi is a sure proof that human trafficking is still a threat in Africa. Jalloh was arrested and charged for attempting to sell his 10 year old son. Speaking to investigators Jalloh revealed that he had visited Liberia with the hopes of selling his son so that he could pay for a friend’s motorbike that had gotten stolen in his hands.

This idea came about from Jalloh’s close friends who advised him to visit Liberia as there was ready market for children. Upon arriving in Liberia, Jalloh went straight to Cotton-Tree, Margibi County where he met a man by the name Momo Kamara who was to help him in finding a buyer for his son.

Kamara advised the 29 year old Jalloh to refer to his son as a chicken instead of a human being to avoid getting noticed. Their plans did not however succeed as they were both arrested while awaiting the buyer on Thursday, December 30th, 2021.
