Ketandu Deborah Adaeze Chiedu has just made herself and her family proud after achieving a very rare feat. She gained admission into six prestigious universities, better than that, she has a full-ride scholarship for each school.
Yale, Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Princeton, and the University of Illinois all want the young Nigerian. If you know anything about universities, then you know each of these schools is a dream come true for any student. They are all prestigious and very selective, especially Harvard, Yale, and Princeton which are Ivy League schools.
Her mother, Joy Nnenne, couldn’t hold back her excitement as she spread the news via her Facebook account. She attributes this feat to years of dedication, sleepless nights, and undaunted hard work. She revealed how she fled her country, Nigeria, with her daughters in 2007 after a failed marriage and countless broken dreams. She took the step not knowing what was ahead but with faith strong enough to help her rise. This drove her to give her all to see that her kids had a better life.
It has been an extremely long journey for Ketandu and her family. They expressed their appreciation to God and the US and everyone who stood by them. Congratulations Ketandu.
