The Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo survived a helicopter crash unscathed on Saturday afternoon after a helicopter carrying him and ten other individuals crash landed. The helicopter crash-landed in Kabba, one of the local government areas of Kogi State. This crash occurred just seven months after he survived another air mishap.
Sometime in June 2018, the helicopter carrying Osinbajo began emitting thick black smoke which forced the pilot to carry out an emergency landing routine a few seconds after being airborne.
The Vice President continued with the planned engagements he had in the State on Saturday as neither he nor any of the other people aboard the aircraft sustained any injuries from the crash. Laolu Akande, a spokesman to the Vice President, made the announcement shortly after the incident through his Twitter account.
The Vice President was in Kogi State as part of the ruling party’s campaign for the presidential polls holding on February 16.
