If you know anything about the Clark Sisters you would be excited because their biopic is coming to the screens courtesy of Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige and Missy Elliot. Not many young people may know about the Gospel group that rocked the scene in the’ 50s. If you don’t, you should be excited because you will be able to know the story of gospel vocal group that made gospel music a trend. Just recently, in 2016, they were honored at the Essence Music Festival for their role as pioneers of gospel music.
The five sisters, Jacky Clark Chisholm. Denise Clark Bradford, Elbernita “Twinkie” Clark-Terrell, Dorinda Clark-Cole, and Karen Clark Sheard will have their story told by the legendary trio of Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige and Missy Elliot. We will see how they won three Grammy’s and produced 16 albums while racking in millions as far back as the ‘50s.
The Biopic, titled “You Brought the Sunshine” will hit the screens in early 2019. The announcement was made on Instagram and read “It is with great anticipation that we share with you the story of the Clark Sisters “You Brought the Sunshine” coming early 2019 we are so excited.” You Brought the Sunshine is the Clark Sister’s 8th Album and was the first of their albums to be certified gold.
Many top artistes such as Beyonce and Faith Evans revealed the Clark Sisters as their inspiration. It remains to be seen how many more people will be inspired by the legendary 5.
