Just in case you didn’t know who Seun Kuti is, he is the last son of the Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. Seun Kuti continued in his father’s footsteps and has become a force to be reckoned with not just in afrobeat but in music as a whole.
The Grammy nominations were released on Friday on the official Grammy’s website and Seun got a nomination. He along with the Egypt 80 band were nominated for “Best World Music Album” for the album “Black Times.”
For an album to be nominated in this category according to the Grammy’s website, it has to contain a minimum of “51% airplay of recordings of World music which has a new vocal or instrumental.”
Other artistes nominated in the Best World Music Album category include:
- Bombino – Deran

We wish Seun Kuti all the best in the awards that hold in February 2019.
