The April issue of Vogue Arabia is out and it has featured beautiful Somali models: Halima Aden, Ikram Abdi Omar, and Amina Adan. This is Vogue Arabia’s premier Hijab cover. This comes after Vogue had featured an African on its cover and Marsai Martin and Nico Parker featured on the cover of Teen Vogue a few weeks ago.
The magazine cover was revealed via Vogue Arabia’s Instagram page two days ago. The issue is dedicated to female empowerment and asides the models, other brave women are featured. They include athlete’s Zahra Lavi, Ibtihaj Muhammed, US congressman Ilhan Omar, and CEO Ghizlan Guenez.

The models have never been shy of wearing their hijabs on runways and being featured on Vogue Arabia is a major step towards achieving diversity in the modeling industry. The models discuss their experiences in the industry, how they have risen, and hijabs.
This is the first time Vogue is featuring models wearing hijab and it is coming as a round up to this year’s women’s month. This could, however, be a step to something bigger by Vogue.
