When Jannique Martinez bought her house in Virginia Beach five years ago, she had a dream of a peaceful environment that would give her ample time to raise her family. This however has not been the case as they met with a ‘neighbor from hell’.
According to Jannique, her neighbor has set up sensors that are tripped whenever anyone in the neighborhood leaves or enters their home. She also notes that the sensors trigger bright flashing lights and loud music when they go off. “I’m not going to lie, if I had any imagination it would be like this, we would have not bought this house. I would never sign up for this”, said the distressed mum.
The young mother also notes that they have had to encounter monkey sounds or comedy videos making heavy use of the “N” word from their neighbor’s music. Despite confronting the local police for help, the situation has not gotten any better.
To make matters worse, the police say they are powerless to punish the neighbor. “ As appalling and offensive as the neighbor’s behaviors are, the city attorney and Virginia magistrates have separately determined that the actions reported thus far did not rise to a level that Virginia law defines as criminal behavior, “ noted the police department in a statement.
Ms. Jannique now remains hopeless and vulnerable despite having used her savings to secure a family home.
