As it seems, Wendy Williams is not returning to her talk show anytime soon due to complications from Graves’ disease. She is currently placed on admission at the hospital.
By way of definition, Graves’ disease is autoimmune thyroid disease, in plain English, when the thyroid gland is affected by antibodies produced by the body’s immune system. The thyroid gland is located in the neck and in Graves’ disease, the antibodies stimulate it to produce more hormones.
Wendy had previously fractured her shoulder and the recent complications with her Graves’ disease require that she be placed under close observation by her physicians, hence, her hospital admission. She does have a strong desire to return to work but she has to focus on her health and personal wellbeing.
Wendy has expressed her immense gratitude to the general public, especially those who have sent in messages of encouragement. She also appreciates the respect of her privacy in her trying period. The producer of the Wendy Williams Show, Debmar-Mercury, has said repeat episodes will be aired between January 21 and 27. This will lead to different hosts will be invited by the next week for original episodes.
We wish Wendy a quick recovery and our prayers are with her and her family.
