For several years there have been lots of speculation about Bad Boys 3. Well those rumors might have just become reality as Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have confirmed they are pressing on with “Bad Boys 3.”
Will Smith made the announcement to his over 24.1 million Instagram followers saying, “It’s official, Bad Boys 3 is happening.” In the same video Martin Lawrence, who co-starred with him on Bad Boys, made a surprise appearance saying, “We’re making it happen.”
The response to the video shows that “Bad Boys” fans cannot wait to have another sequel of the movie. In just 24 hours the video had gathered over 6 million views as well as 96,000 comments. Martin Lawrence also posted on his official Instagram handle saying, “It’s official. Bad Boys for Life.”
The sequel which is tentatively titled “Bad Boys for life” is expected to be directed by Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi. Filming should begin in 2019 and the release date is fixed for January 17, 2020.
Bad Boys is largely recognized as Will Smith’s major breakthrough in movies. The movie had a $19 million budget but grossed over $141.4 million. Eight years later the sequel grossed $273.3 million from a budget of $130 million.
We all will keep our fingers crossed as we await Bad Boys 3.
