Diddy has joined Proto Inc., formerly PORTL, as an advisor to the holoportation company, which operates in a range of areas like entertainment, education, retail, enterprise, business, marketing, fashion, and the arts.
Because of Proto’s proprietary cutting-edge technology, which allows a person to “beam” in real-time when they can’t physically be there, interactive holoportation is a possibility.
Proto first met the musician and entrepreneur when he used modern technology to “beam” from Miami to Los Angeles to wish his son King Combs a happy birthday.
“In music and business, Sean Combs has always been an inspired pioneer—constantly altering the game with whatever he does,” stated David Nussbaum, CEO and Founder of Proto Inc.
“Last Spring, we were pleased to bring his family together, and it became the perfect example of how Proto links people for deep, emotional encounters unlike any other technology.”
“We’re thrilled to be collaborating with him as we seek to make the future a reality right now,” continued David.
TRUE Capital Management‘s latest $12 million Series A fundraising also included Combs (Coinbase, Palantir).
The Series A round was led by legendary tech investor Tim Draper (Tesla, SpaceX, Twitch), early Uber investors Jillian Manus and Mike Walsh of Structure Management, Migos’ Quavo, and dozens of retired and active pro-athletes including Marshawn Lynch, Albert Pujols, Robert Griffin III, Luke Walton, and Breanna Stewart.
